Deshchytsia Andrii - Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine
Mr. Andrii Deshchytsia was born on September 22, 1965 in Lviv region.
Graduated from Ivan Franko Lviv National University in 1989, from University of Alberta (Edmonton, Canada) in 1995. Holds an M.A. in History and a Ph.D. in Political Science (1995).
On February 27, 2014 was appointed Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
January-December, 2013 – Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for Conflicts.
2012-February, 2014 – Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
2008-2012 – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Finland and Iceland (with Residence in Finland).
2006-2008 – Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
2004-2006 – Counsellor, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland.
2001-2004 – Counsellor of the Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of Finland.
1999-2001 – Senior Coordinator of PAUCI (Polish-American-Ukrainian Cooperation Initiative).
1996-1999 – Press Secretary, First Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland.
Holds the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine.
Fluent in: English, Russian and Polish.
Andrii Deshchytsia is married with a daughter.
