Event of commemoration the 76th anniversary of the Babin Yar tragedy

On October 1, 2017, in the city of Rishon LeZion, the Association of Ukrainian Immigrants in Israel held an event of commemoration the 76th anniversary of the Babin Yar tragedy.

In his speech, Mr. David Levin, the head of the Association of Ukrainian Immigrants in Israel, spoke of the innocent victims - Jews, Ukrainians and representatives of other nationalities that fell victims during this terrible tragedy for mankind. He spoke highly of those that were risking their lives while saving Jews - the righteous among nations. Mr. Levin called on to keep the memory of these bitter mistakes of the past and to pass them on to next generations in order to avoid repeating them in future.

Guests honoring the commemoration event read poems about the painful pages of history of humanity.

Diplomats from the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Israel, representatives of local authorities and representatives of civil society were present at the event.
