Photo exhibition “Execution by Hunger – The Unknown Genocide of Ukrainians” takes place in Amman

On December 5, 2017 the official opening ceremony of the photo exhibition “Execution by Hunger – The Unknown Genocide of Ukrainians” was held at the Jacaranda Art Gallery. The Exhibition is dedicated to one of the most tragic pages of Ukraine’s history – the 85th Anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-1933.

At the beginning of the event, which was organized by the Embassy of Ukraine, Ambassador of Ukraine Dr. Serhiy Pasko delivered a speech, in which he informed the visitors of the exhibition about the genocide of the Ukrainian nation in 1932-1933, committed by Bolshevik regime in order to subdue Ukrainians, to eliminate definitely their opposition to the regime and any attempts to build an independent and sovereign Ukrainian state.

The Head of Diplomatic Mission noted that in 1932-1933 about 7 million deaths are attributed to starvation within the borders of Soviet Ukraine and 3 million Ukrainians outside of Ukraine in regions historically populated by Ukrainians: the Kuban, the North Caucasus, the Lower Volga region, and Kazakhstan.

Talented poet Victoria Brychkova - Abu Qadum for visitors of photo exhibition, in particular heads and diplomats of foreign diplomatic missions, Ukrainian community, citizens of Jordan and staff of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission, read her author’s poems, dedicated to the tragic events in Ukraine in1932-1933 - the Holodomor .
