The list of transactions and documents required for the registration, re-registration and deregistration of vehicles

Registration of a new vehicle purchased from a showroom

Required documents:

  1. Invoice of the seller (if the invoice of the seller issued not by the importer of the car, "Acceptance-transfer certificate of the vehicle" and "Dealer Agreement" must be provided);
  2. Certificate of conformity (with the relevant applications if any);
  3. The original or a copy of the customs declaration, or a document with a note of registration of electronic customs declaration;
  4. Payment receipt for making of number plates and registration certificates of vehicle;
  5. A copy of the first page of the passport, sealed by the Embassy (if owner of the vehicle is a member of staff or a family member);
  6. A copy of the accreditation card, sealed by the Embassy (if owner of the vehicle is a member of staff or a family member);
  7. Special application (if the Embassy is the owner of the vehicle).

 

Registration of a used vehicle purchased in Ukraine

Required documents:

  1. Invoice of the seller or notarized contract of sale of the vehicle;
  2. The original of the registration certificate of the previous owner;
  3. A copy of extract of traffic police database for vehicle deregistration by previous owner;
  4. Payment receipt for making of number plates and registration certificates of vehicles;
  5. A copy of the first page of the passport, sealed by the Embassy (if owner of the vehicle is a member of staff or a family member);
  6. A copy of the accreditation card, sealed by the Embassy (if owner of the vehicle is a member of staff or a family member);
  7. Special application (if the Embassy is the owner of the vehicle).
  8. Transit number plates.

 

Registration of a vehicle that is under customs control without foreign registration

Required documents:

  1. Invoice;
  2. The original or a copy of the customs declaration, or a document with a note of registration of electronic customs declaration;
  3. Special application (if the Embassy is the owner of the vehicle).
  4. Payment receipt for making of number plates and registration certificates of vehicles;
  5. A copy of the first page of the passport, sealed by the Embassy (if owner of the vehicle is a member of staff or a family member);
  6. A copy of the accreditation card, sealed by the Embassy (if owner of the vehicle is a member of staff or a family member);

 

Registering a vehicle that is under customs control with foreign registration

Required documents:

  1. Certificate issued by the customs;
  2. A document certifying registration of the vehicle in a foreign country;
  3. Special application (if the Embassy is the owner of the vehicle).
  4. Payment receipt for making of number plates and registration certificates of vehicles;
  5. A copy of the first page of the passport, sealed by the Embassy (if owner of the vehicle is a member of staff or a family member);
  6. A copy of the accreditation card, sealed by the Embassy (if owner of the vehicle is a member of staff or a family member);
  7. Foreign number plates (!!!will be deposited in traffic police!!!).

 

Re-registration of the vehicle in case of expiry of the registration certificate

Required documents:

  1. The original of expired registration certificate;
  2. The obligation of re-export of the vehicle with the stamp of the customs;
  3. Payment receipt for making of registration certificates of vehicles (without number plate);
  4. A copy of the new accreditation card, sealed by the Embassy (if owner of the vehicle is a member of staff or a family member);
  5. Special application (if the Embassy is the owner of the vehicle).

 

Re-registration of the vehicle in case of loss of registration certificate

Required documents:

  1. A copy of the lost registration certificate (if available);
  2. Payment receipt for making of registration certificates of vehicles (without number plate);
  3. A copy of the first page of the passport, sealed by the Embassy (if owner of the vehicle is a member of staff or a family member);
  4. A copy of the accreditation card, sealed by the Embassy (if owner of the vehicle is a member of staff or a family member);
  5. Verbal note of diplomatic mission addressed to traffic police concerning internal investigation about the loss of registration certificate (if the Embassy is the owner of the vehicle).

 

Deregistration of the vehicle for export outside Ukraine

Required documents:

  1. Special application (if the Embassy is the owner of the vehicle).
  2. The original of registration certificate;
  3. The obligation to re-export vehicle with the stamp of the customs - "for the re-export"
  4. Payment receipt for deregistration of vehicles (if foreign number plates deposited in traffic police).
  5. Payment receipt for making of transit number plates and deregistration of vehicles  (if no foreign number plates deposited in traffic police);

 

Deregistration of the vehicle for sale

Required documents:

  1. Special application (if the Embassy is the owner of the vehicle).
  2. The original of the registration certificate;
  3. The obligation to re-export vehicle with a note "for customs clearance" (issued by the customs);
  4. Payment receipt for making of transit number plates and deregistration of vehicles.

Sale / purchase of the vehicle between the owners, accredited in MFA of Ukraine

The procedure of changing the owner between the owners, accredited in MFA of Ukraine provides:

  1. implementation by the current owner  the procedures of "deregistration of the vehicle for sale";
  2. implementation of the new owner the following procedure:

If the car is not under customs control, the necessary documents are similar to procedure "Registration of a used vehicle purchased in Ukraine";

If the vehicle is under customs control, the necessary documents are the following:

  1. Certificate (issued by the customs);
  2. Special application (if the Embassy is the owner of the vehicle);
  3. Payment receipt for making of number plates and registration certificates of vehicles;;
  4. A copy of the first page of the passport, sealed by the Embassy (if owner of the vehicle is a member of staff or a family member);
  5. A copy of the accreditation card, sealed by the Embassy (if owner of the vehicle is a member of staff or a family member).
