Condolences of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in connection with the consequences of the hurricane "Irma"

The hurricane “Irma”, which covered number of states and local territories of the Caribbean region as well as Central America and southern part of the Unites States, caused human causalities and suffering of people, huge financial and material losses.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expresses the heartfelt sympathy and support to families of the deceased and wishes a rapid recovery to the injured.

On 19 February 2018, Ukraine filed its Memorial in arbitration proceedings against the Russian Federation under the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (“UNCLOS”).  The Memorial establishes that Russia has violated Ukraine’s sovereign rights in the Black Sea, Sea of Azov, and Kerch Strait.
