Mine Awareness Day
On April 4, 2018 from 11:00 till 16:00 in Kyiv in Taras Shevchenko Park the Mine Awareness Day will take place. Official opening is planned for 12:00 with participation of Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar, Head of United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Ms. Ingrid Macdonald, Head of United Nations Children's Fund Ukraine Ms. Giovanna Barberis, Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE SMM Ms. Aleska Simkic.
During the event Ministry of Defense, State Emergency Service of Ukraine, State Special Transport Service and National Police as well as foreign partners will demonstrate demining equipment and will also provide information regarding the appropriate behavior on the territories contaminated with explosive devices.
The Mine Awareness Day is extremely important for the development of awareness of the civil population of Ukraine with mine threat.
Everybody willing to participate is welcome.
