On 25 June 2009 the Ambassador of Ukraine to Ireland Mr. Borys Bazylevskyi participated at a working lunch in the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ireland. In the event on behalf of the Secretary General of the Department Mr. David Cooney, the Ambassadors of some Baltic and Scandinavian states as well as heads of a number of the Department’s divisions also took part.
During the conversation with Mr. Cooney the Ambassador expressed gratitude for Ireland’s support of Ukraine’s aspirations towards integration with the EU and also stressed the necessity of intensification of bilateral contacts on all levels. The Ambassador confirmed invitations of the leaders of Ukraine to their Irish colleagues to visit Ukraine.
On his behalf the Secretary General stressed the readiness of the Irish side to closer cooperation with Ukraine in all sectors, especially in bilateral cooperation as well as in the process of implementation of the Eastern Partnership policy.
