16-17 April 2013 - OSCE meeting in Kyiv on Environmental Impact of Energy Activities
On 16-17 April 2013, officials and experts from 57 OSCE participating States and representatives of key international organizations will meet in Kiev to discuss ways to improve the environmental footprint of energy-related activities in the OSCE area.
The preparatory meeting of the 21st OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum will become the first international event of Ukraine’s OSCE Chairmanship to be hosted in Ukraine.
It will be opened by OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara and Halil Yurdakul Yigitgüden, the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities. Keynote speakers at the event will be Michael C. Camuñez, US Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Market Access and Compliance and Vadim Lukov, Ambassador-at-Large from the Russian Federation responsible for G8 and G20 issues.
During the event, national and international officials and experts, representatives of non-governmental organization, the business community and academia will discuss possible ways to increase stability and security in the OSCE area through sustainable energy solutions.
Journalists are invited to the opening session of the meeting, from 9:30 to 11:00 on Tuesday, 16 April, in the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine, St. Velyka Zhytomyrska, 2, Kyiv.
Advance registration of journalists not later than 15 April at 16.00 EET is mandatory.
