With great sorrow and indignation we have learned in Ukraine about the attack on Sobanou-Kou village in central Mali on the night of June 9-10 killing more than 95 civilians, including women and children.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly condemns this terrible crime and expresses the hope that the perpetrators involved in this barbaric terrorist act will be brought to justice.

Ukraine, as one of the leading contributors to the UN peacekeeping operations on the African continent, as well as a participant in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), supports the efforts by the Government of the Republic of Mali and the international community aimed at restoring peace and stability in this West African nation.
