"The accomplishments of Ukrainian IT-specialists give а reason to view Ukraine as "New Silicon Valley" and create new prospects for comprehensive cooperation with Switzerland" - the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Ukraine Claude Wild said on 9 September during presenting copies of his Credentials to the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olena Zerkal.

During the meeting, the sides expressed mutual interest in deepening bilateral dialogue, especially in the economic and investment with emphasis on digital capabilities.

Ambassador K.Wild emphasized the interest of Swiss businessmen to intensify cooperation with Ukraine, as exemplified by the launch of a new investment project by «Geberit» in Slavuta.

O.Zerkal highly assessed Switzerland being one of the largest investors in Ukraine and thanked for numerous humanitarian aid projects for Ukrainian citizens. She also encouraged the Swiss side to join new programs of social and economic reconstruction of the Donbass, as well as to share best practices in the field of local self-governance, in particular on the effective use of budgetary resources by local authorities.

Further steps to deepen political dialogue between Ukraine and Switzerland were also discussed.
