Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on occasion of celebration of 50th Anniversary of establishment of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations
On August 8th, 2017 ten nations of the Southeast Asia mark a significant milestone – 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
Throughout the last half a century of multifaceted challenges, ASEAN has demonstrated its resilience and commitment to sustainable development, striving to create an environment of peace and prosperity in one of the world’s most diverse regions.
As a partner and reliable friend of ASEAN, Ukraine is keen to promote further cooperation with Southeast Asian nations, whose leaders work hard to ensure harmony and well-being for 630 million people living in the region.
The progress achieved by ASEAN in promoting peace and prosperity earns the highest praise and well-deserved recognition of its significance for global and regional dimensions.
