Great Britain will support European integration of Ukraine and the development of its partnership with NATO. This was the topic of a meeting between Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostyantyn Gryshchenko and Foreign Secretary of Great Britain William Hague in Berlin within the framework of the session of the Ukraine-NATO Commission. The British Foreign Secretary thanked for the evacuation of 23 British citizens from Libya on board the large amphibious landing ship “Kostiantyn Olshansky”. Kostyantyn Gryshchenko in his turn expressed the appreciation of the assistance of the British Navy in evacuation of Ukrainians from Libya and assistance on the part of London in successful realization of the “Kostiantyn Olshansky humanitarian mission. The two topmost diplomats agreed that such a mutual support in the crisis situation proved the high quality and strength of the Ukrainian-British partnership.
William Hague remarked that Great Britain appreciates Ukraine’s support for peacekeeping operations by the Alliance in different parts of the world. On his part, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister stressed that official Kyiv intends to further strengthen cooperation with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and in that connection considers an opportunity to join the training of officers of the Armed Forces of Afghanistan.
Kostyantyn Gryshchenko invited William Hague to come to Kyiv on an official visit.
