On April 13, 2011 Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostiantyn Gryshchenko received Governor of Novosybirsk region (Russian Federation) Vasyl Yurchenko who is leading a delegation of Novosybirsk region to Ukraine to get acquainted with the Ukrainian regions’ potential and to consolidate further inter-regional cooperation.
During the meeting the interlocutors discussed a number of promising dimensions of interaction in scientific, technical, trade and economic areas, in particular, those related to aircraft-building, nuclear, gas and oil industries.
Ukrainian Minister informed that according to the decision of the President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych Consulate General of Ukraine will be opened in Novosybirsk city in the nearest future. Its priorities will be establishing fruitful trade and economic cooperation and promoting cultural and humanitarian relations in the context of assisting Ukrainian diaspora in the region.
It was underlined during the meeting that efficient interregional cooperation is one of the most essential elements of inter-state interaction which enriches political and economic relations with a real substance addressed to each citizen of the two states.
