The event was attended by the leadership of Kyiv Regional State Administration headed by Anatoliy Prysyazhnyuk, ambassadors of foreign countries, owners and managers of major companies operating in the region, foreign investors, and leaders of other state institutions of Kyiv region.

In his speech during the presentation the Ukrainian Foreign Minister informed about the progress of initiated by the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych systemic reforms in Ukraine aimed at improving of business environment and investment attractiveness of our country.

Among the major achievements in this regard the Minister noted the entry into force of the Law of Ukraine "On preparation and implementation of investment projects by “a single window” principle", adoption of the Tax Code, preparedness for launching on March 1st, 2012 of an automatic system of VAT refunding, which is expected to solve one of the most pressing problem for foreign investors.

Minister Gryshchenko underlined an important role of Ukrainian diplomats in promoting investment cooperation with foreign partners and proposed to more actively use the network of Ukrainian diplomatic missions overseas, in particular, for conducting similar presentations of Ukrainian regions’ investment potential.

This event was already the second of the kind as a joint initiative of the regional state administrations and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. The first one, which took place on September 14th, 2011, was dedicated to investment potential of the Zhytomyr region. The presentation helped to substantially increase awareness among foreign diplomats and investors on investment opportunities of Zhytomyr region.
