In the framework of his working visit to France Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara held negotiations with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius.
In the course of the meeting, the French side was thoroughly informed on the progress in implementing structural reforms in Ukraine, aimed at strengthening the European democratic standards in our country.
French Minister welcomed the efforts of the Ukrainian OSCE Chairmanship in 2013. In this regard both sides agreed on the need to strengthen the Ukrainian-French further cooperation within this international organization.
The interlocutors have also discussed the issue of the European integration of Ukraine, in particular the prospects of signing the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU in the framework of the Vilnius Eastern Partnership Summit. It has been empathized that this Agreement is regarded as the basis for further development of Ukraine-EU relations.
Ministers expressed satisfaction on the increasing dynamics of bilateral dialogue and reaffirmed their resolution to contribute to its further development, particularly in political, economic and cultural spheres.
The foreign ministers signed a Roadmap of bilateral relations of Ukraine and France for the period of 2013-2015. In this regard it has been emphasized that the official Paris considers this Roadmap to be inherently a unique in its kind comprehensive bilateral document envisaging the relations of France with a non-EU country.
