Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara meets Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrissov

During the meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrisov welcomed the progress of Ukrainian presidency, noting the efforts of our state with the formation of a common and indivisible Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian security community in the OSCE region, settlement of regional conflicts, enhance energy and environmental security.
One of the important topics of the negotiations was the exchange of views on prospects of cooperation between Ukraine and the Customs Union with regarding to the implementation of the Memorandum of strengthening cooperation between our country and the Eurasian Economic Commission (31/05/13). In this regard, the parties stressed to maintain and further develop the accumulated potential of bilateral cooperation within the Customs Union.
Leonid Kozharav and Erlan Idrissov discussed the prospects of cooperation between Ukraine and Kazakhstan after the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU and the opportunities that would be opened for Kazakhstan.
It was confirmed mutual interest in signing bilateral agreements on industrial cooperation in aviation, readmission and simplified procedures for acquisition and termination of citizenship.
Both heads discussed the preparations for a joint celebration of the 200th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko.
It was agreed the Joint statement on latest talks.
