Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria Kristian Vigenin, visiting Ukraine with an official visit.
During negotiations priorities of the Ukrainian-Bulgarian relations in political and economic spheres as well as practical steps aimed at enhancing partnership between the two states were discussed.
The Sides agreed to work on organizing the next session of Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and bilateral business forum in the nearest future.
Special attention was paid to priority spheres of bilateral cooperation, namely energy. Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine assured that Ukrainian companies were ready for active work in Bulgaria, particularly in the sphere of nuclear energy.
Kozhara underlined intensification of cooperation between the ministries of foreign affairs of both countries. In this regard the ministers signed the Plan of Consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria for 2014.
Minister Vigenin agreed on the importance signing the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU during Vilnius Summit “Eastern Partnership” in November 2013.
The ways of deepening practical cooperation between Ukraine and Bulgaria within international organization, especially the UN and the Council of Europe as well as other multilateral formats were also discussed.
