On January 25, 2012 Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostyantyn Gryshchenko visited Strasbourg to continue dialogue with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe on the current issues of Ukraine's cooperation with the Council of Europe.
During the meeting the Parties discussed the implementation of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine for 2011– 2014. Minister Gryshchenko informed Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland about the progress of reforms aimed at complete implementation by Ukraine of its membership obligations to the Council of Europe.
The Secretary General noted positive dynamics of cooperation between Ukraine and the Council of Europe in terms of adaptation of norms and standards of the Organization. Special emphasis was attached to the issues of active cooperation with the Venice Commission. Thorbjørn Jagland encouraged Ukraine to continue cooperation with experts of the Council of Europe within the process of legislative reform aimed at meeting the standards of the Council of Europe.
The parties also discussed current issues of European integration of Ukraine.
