Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara took part in the 22th Meeting of the GUAM Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs, which was held on 6 December 2013 within the framework of the 20th OSCE Ministerial Council in Kyiv. The high level meeting was chaired by Mrs. Maia Panjikidze, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia (GUAM Presidency).
During the high level meeting the Sides discussed the current state and prospects of collaboration within the framework of GUAM, in particular, the issues related to the political interaction with the principal partners of the Organization.
A special attention was paid to the outcome of the Vilnius Eastern Partnership Summit. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of GUAM Member-States shared the view that the EU-GUAM model of cooperation could pursue the purpose of promotion of the European values and standards of cooperation beyond the existing EU borders.
Sectoral cooperation, particularly combating organized crime, developing economic, trade and energy cooperation were among the main topics of the meeting.
Minister of Foreing Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara reiterated the interest of Ukraine to establish a consistent collaboration within the framework of the Organization, to develop mutually beneficial relations with the GUAM Member and the GUAM Partner States.
