Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostyantyn Gryshchenko met with Chairwoman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and the Committee’s Ranking Member Howard Berman.
Minister Gryshchenko briefed the Committee leadership on the ambitious program of reforms carried out by the Ukrainian Government. It was stressed that the goals set by the Program can be achieved through consolidated efforts of all political forces in Ukraine. The Foreign Minister underlined that Ukraine will proceed with measures aimed at development of the civil society and adhere to the democratic values.
The American side emphasized the interest in further advancement of Ukraine as democratic and prosperous state, and a reliable partner of the United States.
The sides also marked the importance of energizing the inter-parliamentary cooperation between two nations, which is essential in light of further promoting of the U.S.-Ukraine Strategic Partnership.
