First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Ruslan Demchenko took part in consultations between foreign offices of member states of CIS on the cooperation within the framework of CIS

Addressing the members of consultations Ruslan Demchenko stressed the necessity of further deepening of economic cooperation and informed about main priorities of the presidency of Ukraine in the Commonwealth.

During the event, the main focus was directed towards the questions regarding coordination of interactions, preparing for the high level events and expanding of the legal framework of the CIS in the context of realization of provisions of the Free Trade Agreement, including agreements on pipeline transport transit, free trade in services and a protocol on the gradual cancellation of export duties.

The Parties discussed the status of preparation to the celebration of 70th anniversary of the liberation of Ukraine from Nazi invaders and the Victory in Great Patriotic War 1941-1945.

Plan of multilevel consultations between foreign offices of member states of CIS on 2014 was also agreed. It will be approved at the meeting of the Council of CIS Foreign Ministers (on the 4th of April 2014).
