Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Deshchytsia received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Ukraine Zhang Xiyun

H.E. Zhang Xiyun assured that China respects the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of Ukraine and supports resolution of the current crisis in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea exclusively in a peaceful manner through dialogue and consultations of all the parties involved. He also expressed confidence that "the Ukrainian people will be able to solve all the problems faced by the state by themselves", which was recently declared by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of PRC.
The Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine informed about the measures taken by the Ministry so that the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Ukraine and China enters into force.
The Chinese diplomat asked to ensure necessary security for the citizens of PRC who are currently located in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Deshchytsia assured that the efforts of the Ukrainian side, particularly in the context of normalization of the situation in ARC, first of all, were aimed at creating safe conditions for living and staying in our country for both the citizens of Ukraine and all citizens of foreign countries.
