On January 18, 2011 Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostyantyn Gryshchenko met with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Seiji Maehara in Tokyo.
On January 18, 2011, during the official visit of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych to Japan (18-21 January, 2011), Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostyantyn Gryshchenko met with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Seiji Maehara in Tokyo.
During the meeting the Ministers highly appraised the current state and prospects of bilateral relations. At the same time the sides emphasized the need of further activization of cooperation in political, cultural-humanitarian, trade and economic spheres, particularly in agrarian sector, as well as necessity of realization the projects within Green Investment Scheme mechanism based on the Kyoto Protocol, Official development assistance etc.
The two Ministers appreciated the existing dialogue between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of two countries, including the Ukraine-Japan Cooperation Committee at the Foreign Ministers’ level.
Ministers for Foreign Affairs also recognized the importance of the International Conference “25 years after the Chornobyl Disaster: Safety for the Future” to be held in April 2011 in Kyiv».
