Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Danylo Lubkivsky held telephone talks with Deputy Foreign Minister of Greece Mr. Dimitris Kourkoulas, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway Mr. Bård Glad Pedersen and Director-General for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden Mr. Torbjörn Sohlström.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine D.Lubkivskyi informed his colleagues about the measures taken by the Ukrainian government with the aim to resolve by diplomatic means of the situation around the Russian invasion in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Particular attention was paid to the events in Donetsk on 13 March, where the peaceful protesters had been wounded.
The European diplomats confirmed the firm support of their respective states for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. They expressed their high estimation of Kyiv’s balanced position in its efforts to resist the Russian aggression.
Current issues of Ukraine’s European integration were discussed, in particular, the preparation for signing the political part of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
Deputy Foreign Minister D.Lubkuivsky discussed with his European partners the possibility of further expert and technical assistance to Ukraine to support the reform process.
The schedule of bilateral visits for the nearest future was agreed.
