Vienna, 20 March 2014 - Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriі Deshchytsia and Austrian Foreign Minister, Chair of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe Sebastian Kurz discuss the Council of Europe’s assistance to Ukraine in resolving the Crimean crisis
Andriі Deshchytsia expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Austrian Chairmanship in the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe aimed to support Ukraine in resolving the current crisis in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. He welcomed, in particular, the recently adopted decision by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on the situation in Ukraine, in which the full respect of the territorial integrity, unity and independence of Ukraine was reiterated. The adoption of the decision clearly indicated that the Russian Federation isolates itself from the rest of the world.
For his part, Sebastian Kurz assured of his continued diplomatic and political support of the actions of the Ukrainian Government in order to ensure human rights and maintain territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.
