Within the framework of the visit to Ukraine of the European Commission Delegation, on 26 March 2014 the Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Andrii Deshchytsia met with EU Commissioner for Enlargement and the European Neighbourhood Policy Mr. Štefan Füle.
The parties discussed the latest developments in Ukraine in view of Russia’s aggression in the Crimea as well as fixed areas for further cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in order to preserve sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Emphasizing the signing on 21 March 2014 inBrussels of the political provisions of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, the sides agreed on the need to complete the process of the Agreement’s conclusion as a whole in order to begin its implementation.
Štefan Füle also pointed out the EU readiness to provide maximum support to our country in implementing systemic political as well as social and economic reforms.
While discussing the prospects of introducing by the EU of visa-free travel regime for the citizens of Ukraine Andrii Deshchytsia informed his counterpart about Ukraine’s progress in implementing Visa Liberalization Action Plan, in particular adoption by the Government of Ukraine of a number of draft laws and regulations.
