The last two days have been rather eventful.
An hour ago Prime Minister Yatsenyuk presented an ambitious plan of budget and fiscal reforms.
This Government has a clear vision of what to do. This Government is resolute to change Ukraine and people’s life up to the European rule of law and prosperity standards.
We are standing on a thin red line. But we are strong enough to do our work. The international support is needed and welcome.
Ukraine is not alone.
Clearly we understand that this crisis cannot be resolved militarily at this stage.
Russia is a “Goliath”. It’s a strong regional power that can have their “fifteen minutes of glory”.
But it cannot win a war against the world. And it cannot win a war against international law, justice and truth.
This makes Ukraine confident and resolved. Ukraine will win. Our success story means a victory of the international peace and stability. It’s a victory of human life against any form of evil and aggression.
I would like to draw your attention to increasing pressure applied on the aggressor in international organizations.
A formal complaint was filed by 41 nations in the UN Human Rights Council – about the blatant lies on “human rights abuse” Russia used as pretext for the war.
40 nations support U.N. High Commissioner call for "an immediate, comprehensive and independent investigation". We endorse this call.
Let the inspectors come, investigate – and call Moscow’s bluff.
A special General Assembly session is in preparation to deal with the Crimean dilemma.
We are confident that majority of the United Nations will condemn Russia’s actions.
As to the alleged build-up of Russian military on Ukraine’s Eastern border – Ukraine is analyzing these reports and drawing necessary conclusions.
We are ready to stand our ground and defend our Motherland.
