During the meeting they discussed the situation in Ukraine, particularly in the context of military aggression by the Russian Federation.
A.Olefirov thanked the French side for the support of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, especially at the meetings of the United Nations’ Security Council and the General Assembly on March 27, 2014.
Ambassador A.Remy stressed the importance to conduct presidential election in Ukraine, scheduled for May 25, in compliance with democratic procedures. He confirmed the willingness of France to provide technical assistance for this purpose, and for reforms in the justice and law enforcement spheres.
The sides exchanged views on the prospects of Ukrainian - French cooperation, in particular, through further intensification of political dialogue.
