On April 23, Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Deshchytsia had a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Fumio Kishida.
The sides discussed the results of the quadrilateral meeting of Foreign Ministers of Ukraine, the USA, the EU and the Russian Federation in Geneva on April 17. In particular, Andrii Deshchytsia informed in details the Japanese counterpart about the steps of the Ukrainian side aimed at implementation of the Geneva agreements, end of violence and de-escalation of tensions in the Eastern regions of Ukraine.
Fumio Kishida confirmed unwavering support by Japan of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as the readiness of the Japanese government to supply financial assistance for stabilization of the situation and realization of systemic economic reforms in our country.
During the conversation the sides also discussed current issues of bilateral relations, namely trade and economic cooperation.
