During discussion on the Forum N.Galibarenko outlined key tasks and challenges of the Ukrainian government at the current stage.

Particular attention was paid to the highlighting of the steps taken by the Ukrainian authorities to ensure the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, to conduct democratic presidential elections on May 25, 2014, to create conditions for stabilization of economy and the implementation of European integration priorities.

Special emphasis was placed to the importance of the role of multilateral mechanisms that are capable to assist Ukraine in implementing these tasks.

The participants of GLOBSEC Forum were informed about the escalation of tensions in eastern regions of Ukraine and the role of Russia in this regard. Having called the Russian side on the implementation of Geneva agreements, First Deputy Minister has expressed expectations that EU and USA would strengthen sanctions if further aggressive actions of Russia regarding Ukraine continue.
