On 3 June, 2014 Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Sergiy Kyslytsya participated in the Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CEI “New Challenges for the CEI” that took place in Vienna. During the meeting participants discussed a number of important programs and functional issues of the CEI, including the state of implementation of the CEI Action Plan for 2014-2016.
Sergiy Kyslytsya informed the participants about the current situation in our country, election results, priorities of the Ukrainian Government in the context of the course of the European integration.
At the end of the Ministerial the Joint Communiqué was approved by CEI members. The Ministers of the CEI member countries in the context of events in Ukraine stressed that international law and agreements should be executed by all without exception. They commitment to the sovereignty, political independence, unity and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The Ministers supported Ukraine in taking forward a comprehensive reform program including constitutional and administrative reforms. They welcomed the wide national dialogue aimed at stabilization of the situation in the country. The Ministers endorsed the signing of the Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine on 21 March 2014 and call for prompt signing of the remaining provisions of the Association Agreement including the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area. The Ministers also welcomed the substantial progress reached by Ukraine in the visa-liberalization dialog with the EU.
