On June 20 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Sergiy Kyslytsya received Director General of Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland Ms. Kirsti Kauppi.
In the course of the meeting an exchange of views on current political situation in Ukraine and the latest developments in the East of the country took place.
A special attention was drawn to the peaceful plan presented by the President of Ukraine Mr. Petro Poroshenko on the settlement of the situation in the East of Ukraine, responsible implementation of which will allow restoring peace in violence-hit region.
The counterparts agreed that current crisis in the European security architecture caused by recent actions against Ukraine makes necessary a reassessment of the existing arms control and security-and confidence-building mechanisms in order to increase their ability to respond and cope with modern security threats.
