On 11 July during his working visit to Brussels, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin held talks with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
The Minister informed the leader of the Alliance on the recent developments in Ukraine and Ukrainian leadership’s efforts to stabilize the situation in the eastern regions of our country.
Upon the request of the Secretary General, the Minister informed him on the results of today's trilateral talks in the Ukraine-EU-Russia format on the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
The sides also discussed further steps to be taken in the immediate future to deepen NATO-Ukraine relations in the framework of their Distinctive Partnership.
In particular, they reached f preliminary agreement on a timetable for political dialogue at the high and highest levels, a number of practical cooperation issues and new projects to support Ukraine pursuant to the decisions of the North Atlantic Council at Foreign Ministers level of 1 April and 25 June, aimed at strengthening our country’s defence capability and developing its Armed Forces, defence and security sector.
