The two sides discussed the recommendations of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission Final Report on the early presidential elections in Ukraine on May 25, 2014, as well as ODIHR’s possible assistance in improving the election legislation and practices in Ukraine.
The sides agreed with further continuation of the bilateral cooperation in all the spheres of the ODIHR’s activity. It was agreed that the issue of the Crimea’s illegal annexation and the ongoing human rights abuses that occur on the peninsula with the support of the Russian occupying authorities has to remain high on the agenda of the international community.
Among other issues the two sides discussed implementation of the Peace Plan of President P.Poroshenko and engagement of the OSCE ODIHR into resolving the situation with Nadia Savchenko, who is being illegally detained in Russia.
