29 August 2014 21:14

During the meeting, the Minister expressed appreciation of the UN constant attention paid to the gross human rights violations in the East of Ukraine by illegal armed groups supported by Russia and in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea after its occupation by the Russian Federation. He noted the impartial activities of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission, which has been working in Ukraine since March 15, 2014 on the invitation of the Ukrainian Government. The Foreign Minister has positively estimated the fifth report on the human rights situation in Ukraine released today, stressing its balanced and objective nature.

Both sides have discussed the latest developments in Ukraine, in particular, in Donetsk and Lugansk regions in the context of direct Russian military invasion.
