On September 2, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine P.Klimkin sent a letter to the Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights M.Link with an invitation to the OSCE ODIHR to observe the early parliamentary elections in Ukraine.
The invitation was prepared in implementation of Ukraine’s political commitments within the OSCE regarding monitoring of national elections by international observers according to 1990 OSCE Copenhagen Document.
The OSCE ODIHR is planning to deploy to Ukraine 80 long-term and 600 short-term observers. It is expected that the observation mission will commence its activities in Ukraine in mid-September 2014.
