On September 15, 2014, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr Pavlo Klimkin met with 11 resident Arab ambassadors (Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and UAE).
Foreign Minister expressed appreciation of support of territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, both within international organizations and on bilateral level.
Minister Klimkin noted that Ukraine sought effective means to strengthen and diversify the existing level of cooperation with the Arab world. He added that it was of Ukraine’s interest to have more businessmen from the Middle East and North Africa investing in national economy.
Mr Minister announced that in order to facilitate individual contacts Ukraine was considering to ease visa requirements for some of Arab countries. Mr Klimkin also noted that the President of Ukraine was expected to appoint soon ambassadors to a number of Arab states.
During the meeting participants also exchanged views on current situation in the Middle East.
