First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Nataliia Galibarenko met with the members of the European Parliament (the Alliance of European Conservatives and Reformists)
The parties welcomed the simultaneous ratification of Ukraine-EU Association Agreement by the Verkhovna Rada and the European Parliament. They agreed that it was an important political signal of support for Ukraine’s European integration.
With regard to internal developments in Ukraine, the parties discussed the ways of settling the situation in the East of the country, including the EU assistance to stabilize the economy and provide recovery of Ukraine.
The discussions also focused on preparations for the early parliamentary elections to the Verkhovna Rada, scheduled for October 26, 2014, as well as international monitoring of the elections, in particular by the European Parliament.
