On September 30 Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin held a thematic meeting of the Council of exporters and investors under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, focused on political and diplomatic support by the Ministry to domestic manufacturers in the issue of diversification of the markets.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade – Trade Representative of Ukraine Valeryi Piatnytskyi, Chairman of ICC Ukraine Volodymyr Schelkunov, President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gennadiy Chyzhykov and CEOs of about 40 Council members - leading Ukrainian associations, enterprises and companies.
In his speech Pavlo Klimkin emphasized the importance of maintaining a direct dialogue with leading enterprises of Ukraine which are the most dependent on the Russian market, outlined MFA moves to protect their interests on traditional markets and to support Ukrainian producers in the context of potential Ukrainian expansion on foreign states markets.
As a result of the Council meeting the members agreed to elaborate the action plan of solving the urgent issues of Ukrainian exporters in the process of reorientation to new and alternative trade markets including the markets of EU member states.
