The British diplomat was briefed on the progress of implementation of Peace Plan of the President of Ukraine, efforts to deescalate the situation in the east of Ukraine.
O.Zerkal stressed that the objective of the Government is to restore effective control of the Ukraine-Russia border, with the participation of OSCE verification mission.
It was emphasized on the need for Ukraine in additional financial assistance to stabilize national economy and rebuild eastern regions infrastructure ruined by the undeclared war, as well as advisory assistance for the ratification by the parliaments of European counties of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
The parties also discussed preparations for the donor conference for Ukraine, scheduled for January-February 2015 in Kyiv.
According to S.Fraser, the UK will continue to support Ukraine both bilaterally and within international organizations aimed at stabilizing the situation in the east and implementing structural reforms.
