On December 19th, 2014 a working meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto took place. The sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the questions of energy security and diversification of energy supply routes, cross-border cooperation, the prospects of trade-economic and investment cooperation, as well as to the issues of visa liberalization.
The Hungarian side reaffirmed its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, confirmed readiness to assist in the process of structural reforms in Ukraine, particular in the field of public administration and decentralization.
After the negotiations the foreign ministers signed the Protocol on Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Affairs of Hungary for 2015-2016. Also the Protocol on cooperation between the educational ministries of the two countries for 2015-2017 was signed (from Ukrainian side the document was signed by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Kvit).
