On March 25-26, 2015 Ukrainian-Norwegian political consultations were held in Oslo. The two sides were led by First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Nataliia Galibarenko and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway Bård Glad Pedersen.
The counterparts discussed the situation in Eastern Ukraine, bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic and investment fields as well as in the energy. A particular importance was placed on the contract between the National Joint Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine and the Norwegian company Statoil concerning gas supplies to Ukraine in regard to strengthening its energy security, specifically diversification of the sources of energy supply.
Ms. Galibarenko expressed gratitude to the Norwegian side for its political support and substantial practical assistance to our state in relation to the implementation of important domestic reforms. In this regard she highlighted Norway's financial assistance to support Ukraine's state budget and meet the needs of the temporarily displaced Ukrainians from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Ukraine's Eastern regions.
The counterparts also exchanged on a further cooperation between Ukraine and Norway within multilateral formats.
