The parties expressed appreciation of the level of the Ukrainian-Lithuanian cooperation in all spheres of mutual interest and positively noted high dynamics of bilateral political dialogue.

M.Janukonis stressed his country’s unconditional support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Discussion was focused on situation in the East of Ukraine in the context of the implementation of the Minsk agreements and practical fulfilment of the initiative over deployment of UN/EU peacekeeping mission in Ukraine.    

During the meeting the sides exchanged opinions on Ukraine’s European integration perspectives, in particular in the context of what can be expected from Riga Eastern Partnership Summit in May. Newly appointed Ambassador told about Lithuania’s support for the perspective of EU visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens, which should be reflected as a political message in the final Riga Summit Declaration.  

This year schedule of Ukraine-Lithuania contacts and exchange by visits was discussed.

M.Janukonis assured that Lithuania will be represented at high level at the International conference on support to reforms in Ukraine, which is to be held in Kyiv on the 28-th of April.
