Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostyantyn Gryshchenko met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Ukraine Pavol Hamzik at his request.

During the meeting the current level and future perspectives of the Ukrainian and Slovak cooperation were discussed.

The Parties agreed with the necessity of deepening the political dialog between two neighboring countries as well as intensification of the Ukrainian and Slovak economic cooperation.

The interlocutors discussed the schedule of bilateral visits for the nearest future at the political level, including an official visit of the President of the Slovak Republic Ivan Gašparovič to Ukraine and an official visit of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák to Ukraine in April.

The Parties emphasized the need for stepping up the preparations for the Second meeting of the Ukrainian-Slovak intergovernmental commission on economic, industrial and scientific cooperation.
