Nataliia Halibarenko informed the Italian side on the current situation in Ukraine and expressed appreciation for the Italy’s support of transformation process in our country.

Benedetto Della Vedova confirmed the readiness of the Government of Italy to continue EU sanctions policy against Russia until the full implementation of the Minsk agreements, as well as to further provide full support to Ukraine, having stressed upon the importance for further major structural reforms in our country.

He also expressed support for Ukraine towards European integration, including in the context of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga planned for May 21-22, 2015. Benedetto Della Vedova confirmed the willingness of members of both Houses of the Italian Parliament to complete the ratification of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement in the nearest future.

Both sides expressed satisfaction that the Ukrainian-Italian Council on Economic, Industrial and Financial Cooperation has resumed its work, and agreed the agenda for its next meeting.

The parties discussed in details the current bilateral cooperation in energy and agriculture and agreed on a number of bilateral measures in this regard. In addition, they exchanged views on the prospects of signing of a number of bilateral documents.

The meeting was also attended by the representatives of Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving, and NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine.
