On June 29 First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Nataliia Galibarenko took part in the 5th round of the EU Initiative "Eastern Partnership" informal ministerial dialogue (Minsk).
The participants discussed the prospects of "Eastern partnership" following the Riga Summit (22 May, 2015) and the security situation in the region.
Special attention was paid to the ways of the EU Initiative promotion, implementation of the differentiation principle as well as sectoral interaction within the partner countries relations with the EU.
The need in joined efforts in priority areas under Riga Summit Declaration, namely, strengthening the public administration institutions, mobility, expanding of economic opportunities, as well as transport and energy was stressed.
Deterioration of situation in the East of Ukraine as well as implementation of Minsk agreements were also discussed.
Background information: The informal ministerial dialogue is the Eastern Partnership tool. It is held at the level of Foreign Ministers and sectoral ministers of the partner states as well as the EU Commissioners. Its purpose is to discuss the sectoral cooperation and policy issues development.
