On November 19, 2015 Mr. Nobuhiro Terada, the artistic director of Kyiv State Ballet School was conferred the lapel badge to the People’s artist of Ukraine award in accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine of August 21, 2015, No 492/2015. The ceremony took place in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.   

Olena Zerkal expressed gratitude to Mr. Terada for his longstanding activity aimed at the development of ballet art in Ukraine as well as his significant personal contribution to deepening cultural cooperation between Ukraine and Japan.

His Excellency, Mr. Shigeki Sumi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine has attended the ceremony and congratulated the citizen of Japan with the awarding the highest honorary title of Ukraine in the cultural sphere.

Mr. Nobuhiro Terada is the principal dancer of the Taras Shevchenko National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Ukraine and the artistic director of the Kyiv State Ballet School. As a board-member of the Kyoto-Kyiv Association of Friendship he has been facilitating cultural exchanges between Ukraine and Japan for many years.
