On January 6, 2016 Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Sergiy Kyslytsya had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Ukraine Zhang Xiyun within the framework of regular Ukrainian-Chinese contacts.
During the meeting the parties summarized the cooperation between Ukraine and China in 2015 and also focused on the bilateral agenda for 2016.
The parties agreed upon the necessity to strengthen interaction in the political, trade and economic spheres as well as intensify cooperation within the framework of International organisations, including on the current issues of the UN Security Council agenda, where Ukraine started its non-permanent membership as of January 1, 2016. In this regard Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Sergiy Kyslytsya stated that Ukraine and China have similar views on North Korea underground hydrogen bomb testing on January 6, 2015.
The parties also stressed the importance of intensifying Inter-Parliamentary contacts between Ukraine and China and boosting exchanges in tourism, cultural and educational spheres.
