On January 12, 2016 Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Sergiy Kyslytsya had a meeting with Director-General of the European Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan Hajime Hayashi.
During the meeting the parties focused on the results of cooperation between Ukraine and Japan in 2015 and also discussed the bilateral agenda for 2016.
The parties welcomed intensification of political dialogue between two states in 2015 as well as active cooperation in all spheres of bilateral relations. Deputy Minister Sergiy Kyslytsya also expressed gratitude to the Japanese side for consistent support of Ukraine in the international arena, in particular within the frameworks of the UN Security Council and G7 as well as providing significant financial and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
The parties confirmed their commitment to develop active cooperation within the framework of the UN Security Council where both countries hold non-permanent seats, as well as other international fora.
