The parties welcomed the launch of Deep and comprehensive free trade area on January 1, 2016 and confirmed the willingness to make the joint efforts to provide the tangible positive results both for business and for consumers in Ukraine and in the EU.
Special attention was paid to the consequences of discriminatory acts of the Russian Federation regarding the limiting of Ukrainian imports to Russian market and Ukrainian transit through Russia to the markets of third countries. In this context P.Klimkin proposed to consider a package of joint measures aimed at strengthening economic impact of implementation the DCFTA by stimulating investment and business contacts between the business circles of Ukraine and the EU, EU assistance in the development of export potential of Ukraine, further liberalization of access for certain categories of Ukrainian exports to the EU market, coordination of Ukraine and the EU efforts in the framework of the WTO.
It was agreed to coordinate the joint efforts in this direction.
